Matt Hardy Hints More Wyatt Sicks Members Could Join Syx in TNA
Matt Hardy doubts the name Syx was chosen for a duo as the Hardys face Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw at Bound for Glory.
Matt Hardy believes Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, the former Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis of WWE's Wyatt Sicks, may not stay a duo for long in TNA. Speaking on his podcast The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy in early October 2026, he pointed to the name the pair now use, Syx, and said he doubts it was picked for a team of two. The Hardys meet Syx in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Bound for Glory on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
What Matt Hardy said about Syx
Hardy was asked whether more members of the old WWE stable could follow Sawyer and Shaw to TNA. His answer:
I don't think they decided to title the faction Syx just because they thought they were going to be two. So, I think a lot of things are possible going forward.
He also said the pair bring "a lot of star power" and that WWE "didn't utilize them to their maximum potential," while giving credit to the tag title run they had there. In his view, WWE television still reaches a worldwide audience that no other show can match, and that exposure is part of what Sawyer and Shaw carry into TNA.
Hardy was speculating, and TNA has not announced any further former Wyatt Sicks members. Earlier in September, before the debut, he said on the same podcast that he had no inside knowledge of the group's signing status. He added that he would like to see a "hybrid" version of the characters, with more of the real person showing and less of the supernatural presentation they had in WWE.
How the Hardys and Syx feud started
For several weeks TNA had been building a mystery around backstage attacks on its roster, one of them on Jeff Hardy. Matt made it his job to find out who was behind them. On the September 24, 2026 episode of TNA Impact, the Hardys went to the ring and called the attackers out. The lights flickered, a brawl broke out, and when the lights came back two men stood over Matt and Jeff and removed their masks. They were Sawyer and Shaw, and the screen showed the name Syx.
Both men are back under the ring names they used before WWE. Shaw already knows the company, since he wrestled in TNA as Samuel Shaw before his WWE years. For Sawyer, it is his first run with the promotion.
On the October 1 episode of Impact, Syx cut a promo explaining the attacks, and the Hardys came out to answer. Matt challenged them to a Falls Count Anywhere match at Bound for Glory. The segment ended with the lights going out, and when they returned, Syx were gone from the ring. TNA confirmed the match for the October 11 show.
The Hardys vs. Syx at Bound for Glory 2026
Bound for Glory 2026 takes place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, and streams on pay-per-view and TNA+. Nic Nemeth defends the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater in the main title match, and the card also has the Call Your Shot Gauntlet and Hall of Fame inductions for ODB, Amazing Red and Konnan.
There is one question mark over Sawyer. He hurt his knee during a GCW World Championship defense in Cincinnati on September 26 and did not finish that match. The next day he said the injury did not look like one that would keep him out for long, and the Bound for Glory match has stayed on the card.
Where the other Wyatt Sicks members are
The Wyatt Sicks debuted on WWE Raw on June 17, 2024, with five members: Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy and Nikki Cross. Lumis and Gacy won the WWE Tag Team Championship on July 11, 2025 and held it for 196 days before losing to Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga on January 23, 2026. WWE released all five in April 2026.
Since then, Rowan has gone back to the independent scene as Erick Redbeard, and Cross is wrestling as Nikki Storm and has become a co-owner of Progress Wrestling. In September, before Sawyer and Shaw appeared on Impact, TNA was reported to be interested in signing more than one member of the group. Whether that extends to Dallas, Rowan or Cross has not been confirmed, and none of them is booked for Bound for Glory.
