Moxley vs. Davis and Trios Title Match Added to AEW WrestleDream
Jon Moxley defends the Continental title against Mark Davis and the trios belts go two out of three falls at WrestleDream in Orlando on October 17.
AEW added two more championship matches to WrestleDream at its Grand Slam France shows in Paris on October 6. Jon Moxley will defend the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis, and Swerve Strickland and The New Level will put the AEW World Trios Championship on the line against "Hangman" Adam Page, Bandido and Brody King in a two out of three falls match. WrestleDream takes place on Saturday, October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
Moxley against Davis for the Continental title
Davis earned his shot in tag team action at the Adidas Arena, where he and Jake Doyle beat Moxley and Gabe Kidd. The pair have history over this belt. Moxley defeated Davis with the bulldog choke in a Continental Championship eliminator on Dynamite in Sacramento on February 18, a match in which Davis split his hand open on the ring post.
Two out of three falls for the trios belts
Strickland, Kofi and Austin Creed won the trios titles at All In, which was also the first AEW match for Kofi and Creed, who now team as The New Level. A ringside brawl between Page and Strickland led to the match being made. The stipulation means the champions need to win two falls to keep the belts.
Bandido and Kofi already met in Paris, where Bandido pinned him with the 21-Plex to retain the ROH World Championship.
Clockwork Carnage for the world title
Will Ospreay kept the AEW World Championship by beating Kazuchika Okada with the Hidden Blade in the Paris main event, so he goes to Orlando as champion. He defends in Clockwork Carnage, a new match he tried out at a Pro Wrestling EVE show on October 2 before Tony Khan approved it for AEW.
Eight wrestlers take part. Two start, and another enters every three minutes until all eight are in. During that first stage a wrestler who is pinned or submitted is eliminated, once the last entrant has arrived. The survivors then wrestle a 15 minute Iron Man stage in which every fall counts, and whoever has the most falls at the end leaves with the title.
Samoa Joe took the first spot by beating Jack Perry with the Musclebuster in a qualifier on Dynamite. "Speedball" Mike Bailey is reported to have taken another by beating Lee Moriarty at the Collision taping in Paris, which airs on Saturday, October 10. The remaining places have not been announced.
The announced card
Mercedes Moné retained the AEW Women's World Championship against Queen Aminata in Paris, which confirmed Thekla as her challenger in Orlando. The Young Bucks defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, who earned the match by beating Darby Allin and Steven Borden at All Out.
Two more matches come out of the same Collision taping and have not aired yet. Tommaso Ciampa is reported to have confronted Andrade El Idolo after Andrade retained the AEW National Championship against Michael Oku, setting up a title match at WrestleDream. In a separate match, Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron, known as Wrathlander, reportedly became number one contenders to the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship held by The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor. AEW has not formally listed either match ahead of the broadcast.

Venue and background
This is the fourth WrestleDream. AEW started the event in 2023 as a memorial to New Japan Pro-Wrestling founder Antonio Inoki, who died on October 1, 2022, and Tony Khan named it after his description of Inoki as wrestling's greatest dreamer.
The Addition Financial Arena sits on the University of Central Florida campus. The show is AEW's first pay-per-view in Florida since Worlds End on December 28, 2024, which was held in the same building. The pay-per-view costs $49.99, or $39.99 through HBO Max, and more matches are expected before October 17.
