Bandido vs. AR Fox
Bandido won the closing title match with the 21 Plex. He and Fox had met in tag competition a few weeks earlier. On the September 17 episode of ROH on HonorClub, Bandido and Komander beat a team that included Fox, with Bandido scoring the pin with the same move. Fox also had a short-lived title run of his own this year. He beat Nick Wayne for the ROH World Television Championship at Supercard Showdown in May, defended it against Lio Rush at Supercard of Honor, and lost it to Rush in a three-way match at Global Wars on June 13 after 35 days.
Where Bandido's reign stands
This is Bandido's second run with the ROH World Championship. He first won it from Rush at Best in the World on July 11, 2021, and had to vacate it that December after testing positive for COVID-19. He took it back from Chris Jericho in a Title vs. Mask match at AEW Dynasty in Philadelphia on April 6, 2025, which means the reign passed 18 months the day after this episode aired.
He has defended the belt across AEW, ROH and CMLL. Defenses include Máscara Dorada at Arena México in June 2025, Konosuke Takeshita at Supercard of Honor in July 2025, Hechicero at Death Before Dishonor in August 2025 and Blake Christian at Supercard of Honor on May 15, 2026, where Swerve Strickland attacked him after the match. He has also come up short in several AEW title shots during the reign, including a loss to MJF for the AEW World Championship in January 2026.
The New Level challenge and Paris
The New Level, Kofi and Austin Creed, also issued a challenge to Bandido during the show. The trios rivalry behind it goes back to All In on August 30, where Strickland and The New Level took the AEW World Trios Championship from Bandido, Brody King and Adam Page in a Trios Roulette Royale. Bandido's side failed to win the belts back at All Out on September 26.
Kofi got his shot quickly. On October 6, the night after this special aired, Bandido beat him with the 21 Plex at AEW Grand Slam: France at the Adidas Arena in Paris. King was in Bandido's corner and Creed and Strickland were in Kofi's. Page came out to back Bandido, and he and Strickland had to be separated after the match. That confrontation led to a challenge for a two out of three falls match at WrestleDream.
Undercard notes
Queen Aminata opened the show by beating Janai Kai with Off With Her Head. The episode also included a segment with Aminata and Mina Shirakawa promoting Aminata's AEW Women's World Championship match against Mercedes Moné in Paris. Moné retained in that match the following night.
Dalton Castle teamed with The Outrunners to beat The Supastarz in the trios match, finishing it with an elbow drop. Bishop Kaun, a member of The Demand alongside Ricochet and Toa Liona, beat Alan Angels with a Pedigree. Trish Adora, accompanied by Christyan XO, beat B3CCA with the Lariat Tubman. Satnam Singh beat Jacked Jameson with a cutter.
