Wren Sinclair to Challenge Kelani Jordan at NXT Halloween Havoc
The suspended Sinclair won Tuesday's battle royal in disguise, and D'Angelo meets Borne next week to decide Grayson Waller's Halloween Havoc challenger.
Wren Sinclair will challenge Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women's Championship at Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 31. Sinclair, who had been suspended for attacking the champion, won a 20-woman battle royal on Tuesday's NXT after entering it disguised as AAA's Lady Shani. Next week's show on October 13 has a No. 1 contender's match of its own, with Tony D'Angelo facing Myles Borne for a shot at NXT Champion Grayson Waller.
How Sinclair got in
The battle royal was billed as a multi-brand match, with women from NXT, Raw, SmackDown, Evolve, TNA and AAA in the field. Izzi Dame scored the first elimination when she threw out Layla Diggs, and Zaria removed Dame almost straight away. The Elegance Brand worked together to dump Arianna Grace, and Reina Volcan put out Skylar Raye and Adelicious before going herself.
Kali Armstrong appeared to have won it until the masked Lady Shani slid back into the ring, sent Armstrong over the top rope and pulled off the mask to show she was Wren Sinclair. Armstrong was the last of 19 eliminations, after Lizzy Rain, Kiana James and La Catalina had gone shortly before her. Indi Hartwell, Thea Hail, Nikkita Lyons, Ivy Nile, Xia Brookside and Chantel Monroe were also in the match.
Why she was suspended
The feud began on the September 8 episode. Jordan retained the title against Jaida Parker that night with her One of a Kind moonsault, and Sinclair attacked her once the match was over. When the referee tried to step in, Sinclair hit her and then beat Jordan with a kendo stick in the ring and on the floor until officials arrived. NXT general manager Robert Stone told Sinclair later in the show that he had decided to suspend her.
Jordan has held the title since Heatwave on August 30 at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, where she beat Kendal Grey. It is her first reign as NXT Women's Champion. She was the first holder of the Women's North American Championship and has also held the TNA Knockouts Championship. On Tuesday, before the battle royal, she said backstage that she expected to be the one making the big moment at Halloween Havoc and named Volcan and Monroe as possible threats.
Sinclair, from Dallas, Texas, signed with WWE in December 2023 and debuted on NXT in January 2024. She spent time in the No Quarter Catch Crew and won her first WWE title on March 17, 2026, when she beat Fallon Henley for the Women's Speed Championship.
D'Angelo and Borne fight for the other title shot
Waller also won his title at Heatwave. He took the NXT Championship in a four-way with D'Angelo, Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana, hitting a Stunner on Montana and pinning D'Angelo, who came into the match as champion. On Tuesday, Waller said he had come back to NXT to restore the prestige of the title. Borne interrupted and said he wanted the one NXT championship he has never held, and D'Angelo then came out to say he has unfinished business and wants his title back. The winner of their match next week meets Waller at Halloween Havoc.
The October 13 show also has Saquon Shugars against Tristan Angels and two quarter-finals in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Fraxiom face Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno, and The Vanity Project take on Mini Vikingo and Chaz "Starboy" Hall. Hank and Tank and BirthRight advanced from the first round on Tuesday.
Halloween Havoc card so far
Stone announced the event at Heatwave. It takes place on Halloween night and airs on The CW. WWE has not yet named a venue or city. It is the seventh Halloween Havoc held under the NXT banner.
