WWE Money in the Bank 2026 Preview: Card, Ladder Fields, Favorites
Two six-person ladder matches, Reigns against Knight and a Women's World title triple threat head to New Orleans on Saturday.
WWE Money in the Bank takes place on Saturday, October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, with two six-person ladder matches, two title matches and Oba Femi against Bronson Reed. The main card starts at 6pm ET (22:00 UTC), with coverage from 4pm ET (20:00 UTC). In the United States the show streams on the ESPN app, and Netflix carries it internationally.
This is the first Money in the Bank held in October. The briefcase rules have not changed: no pinfalls, no submissions, no disqualifications and no count-outs. Whoever climbs a ladder and pulls down the case gets a contract for a world championship match, which can be cashed in at any time within the next year.

The men's ladder match
All twelve ladder places were decided in triple threat qualifiers on Raw and SmackDown between September 7 and October 2. Bron Breakker went first, beating Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page on Raw on September 7. Je'Von Evans followed a week later against Austin Theory and Big Cass. Trick Williams, who holds the United States Championship, got past Randy Orton and Rey Fenix on SmackDown on September 18.
Penta was not in the original draw. Solo Sikoa was attacked and taken away on Raw before his qualifier, and Raw general manager Adam Pearce put Penta in his place. Penta then beat Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee on September 21. CM Punk took his spot on SmackDown on September 25 by beating Gunther and Finn Bálor, and Kevin Owens filled the last place on October 2 in Denver. Owens powerbombed Johnny Gargano and pinned him while Randy Orton held Cody Rhodes by the ankle so he could not break up the count.
Punk is the obvious name to start with. He won the briefcase in 2008 and again in 2009 and is the only man in the field who has won it before. WWE tends to use the briefcase to lift someone who has not reached the top yet, though, and on that reading Breakker stands out. He was the first man to qualify, and a sudden cash-in would suit a wrestler whose whole style is speed and impact.
Williams arrives as a sitting champion, which makes him a less likely winner, since a briefcase would sit oddly alongside the US title. Owens got in with help from Orton at Rhodes's expense, so his result may matter more for that story than for the briefcase. Penta, who only entered as a replacement, and Evans look like the outside picks, although a ladder match gives flyers like Evans more chances to stand out than most matches do.
The women's ladder match
Sol Ruca opened the women's side on September 7, beating Lyra Valkyria and Maxxine Dupri. Lola Vice beat Raquel Rodriguez and Kelani Jordan on September 14, Jacy Jayne got past Alexa Bliss and Jade Cargill on September 18, and Roxanne Perez beat Iyo Sky and La Catalina on September 21. Lash Legend qualified on September 25 at the expense of Charlotte Flair and Giulia. Tiffany Stratton took the last place on October 2, pinning Candice LeRae with her moonsault after Tatum Paxley had hit a 450 splash.
Stratton is the clear favorite on paper. She won the women's ladder match in 2024 and is the only former world champion in the field. As with Punk, that history cuts both ways, because she has already had the briefcase run and the title reign that followed it. Perez and Ruca are the most plausible first-time winners. Perez was one of the two women who got involved at ringside during the Lynch and Morgan match on Raw this week, which keeps her close to the title picture. Jayne, Vice and Legend each beat at least one established name to get here, which says something about how WWE sees them.
The title matches
Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. Knight attacked Reigns straight after the champion's successful defense against Penta in Mexico City, and WWE made the match official soon after.
The Women's World Championship match grew from a one-on-one to a triple threat on Raw in St. Louis on October 5. Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan were meant to decide Stephanie Vaquer's challenger, but the match ended in a no contest when Lynch accidentally hit Vaquer after Morgan ducked out of the way. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez also got involved at ringside. Vaquer then called out Adam Pearce, who made it Vaquer against both of them in New Orleans.
Oba Femi against Bronson Reed is the only non-title singles match on the card. Femi has been feuding with The Vision, and Reed is the group's heaviest hitter.
How WWE is promoting the show
WWE put out a Money in the Bank preview special on its YouTube channel on October 7. It runs to a little over 24 minutes and is hosted by Joe Tessitore and Big E, who go through each match on the card. Stratton appears live, and Trick Williams and Oba Femi also give their thoughts. WWE also put out a package on the history of the ladder match from the October 5 Raw.
What to watch for
The main thing to settle is who leaves New Orleans with a case and how soon they use it. Reigns and Vaquer both go in as champions, and either of them could have a briefcase holder waiting the moment their match ends. Results from the Smoothie King Center will be on the site after the show on Saturday night.
